New Pisgah Day Care Center

Infant & Toddlers – Preschool & Pre- Kindergarten

HOURS OF OPERATION: New Pisgah Day Care center is open from 7:00a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. We are officially closed New Year’s Day, Dr. Martin Luther King’s Birthday , Good Friday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and the week following Christmas.

GENERAL INFORMATION: Parents must sign children in and out of New Pisgah Day Care each day. For the safety of your, please bring him or her to their classrooms each morning. Never allow a child to come into the center by themselves.

ENROLLMENT: All parents are interviewed by the director upon entering their child in NPDC. The practice of interviewing parents upon enrolling their child in the center is one we feel is important because it gives us a general idea of the child’s behavior, home environments and any illnesses or allergies.

We enroll children from ages 6 weeks to 6 years old. All children 2 years or more entering school must be potty trained. Each child enrolling in the school must have all of his/her shots up-to-date. A complete physical examination form must be filled out and signed by your child’s physician and the medical & dental must be submitted upon enrollment.

EMERGENCY PROCEDURE: A List of emergency telephone numbers are posted next to the phone in the main office:

  • Fire Department
  • Police Department
  • Hospital/Emergency Medical Treatment
  • Ambulance

All parents must submit 3 working Emergency numbers at the time of enrollment.

All staff workers are instructed on the proper use of 911.

Our students practice a periodic Disaster and Fire Drill Procedure.

FEES: (Does not apply to Head Start) There is a $25.00 non- refundable registration fee. The weekly tuition is $150 for infants  and $120.00 for ages (3-5). Fees are payable by Monday for the current week’s care and are considered delinquent after 6:00p.m. Friday. There is a 5% late charge, each week tuition remains delinquent.

RETURNED CHECK POLICY: A $35.00 charge will be added to your account for any returned checks.

LATE CHARGE: (Does not apply to Head Start) for children left after 6:00p.m., the charge will be $10.00 and additional $2.00 for every five minutes past this time.

ABSENCES: All of our rates are based on a weekly budget. We must maintain the same staff and overhead regardless if your child is present or absent. For this reason, there is no refund for absences.

CLOTHING: play clothing is the most appropriate apparel for your child to wear at New Pisgah Day Care Center. In addition, an extra change of clothing is required labeled with your child’s name inside. Space is provided in your child’s locker for their belongings. Due to changes in the weather, layered clothing is most appropriate such as a sweater over a shirt.

Clean bedding (a blanket) labeled with your child’s name needs to be brought on Monday Mornings to cover your child’s cot at nap time.

FOOD SERVICE: NPDC provided a hot, nutritious, well-balanced meal each day. We want to meet special needs so if your child has allergies, please notify us. Some food allergies may require a physician’s note.

A simple but nutritious breakfast will be offered for those children arriving at 8:00a.m. Foods brought from home or purchased at local fast food restaurants are not allowed due to health requirements. A menu is posted on parent bulletin board.

  • Breakfast- 8:15-9:00
  • Snack- 10:00
  • Lunch -11:30
  • PM Snack- 2:30

Snacks are provided in the morning and again in the afternoon. These consist of nutritional foods such as fresh fruit, cookies, crackers, pretzels etc.

Birthdays are very important to our children. If you need to plan a special party for your child, please let us know two days in advance.

All children enrolled in NPDC must have a current Illinois State Food Lunch Program application on file.

Please check your child’s locker or book bags for Homework, letters and other important information.

Medical Exclusions

Lice – child needs to be treated and nits removed before return.

Communicable Diseases – chicken pox, measles, mumps, conjunctivitis (pink eye), influenza etc. The child may return when the incubation and contagious periods is passed and the child is well enough to resume normal childcare activities. Students may also be excluded for out-of-date medicals and dentals.

Medical Emergencies

Minor bumps and scrapes are inevitable, but I make every effort to keep your children safe through supervision and childproofing. Minor injuries will receive appropriate first aid, and if an emergency injury or illness occurs.

Nap/Quiet Time

All children will be required to lie down for a nap/quiet time each day. We do not force children to sleep but they must lie down quietly, this is the time the teachers use for lesson planning.
